A Swiss one franc coin dated 1969, featuring the classic standing Helvetia design and struck in 83.5% silver.

The obverse depicts Helvetia, the female personification of Switzerland, standing with a spear beside a shield bearing the Swiss cross. A ring of stars surrounds the figure, with “HELVETIA” beneath.

The reverse displays the denomination “1 Fr.” above the date, framed by an intricate wreath of oak leaves and floral foliage tied with a ribbon at the base. Beaded borders finish both sides.

An attractive example of Switzerland’s traditional silver coinage, with visible detail in Helvetia’s robes, the shield and the decorative wreath. A suitable addition to a Swiss, European or world silver coin collection.
