An Australian sixpence dated 1928, issued during the reign of King George V and struck in .925 sterling silver.

The obverse features the King’s crowned and robed bust facing left, surrounded by an abbreviated Latin inscription naming him as King and Emperor of India. Details of the crown, facial profile and robes remain visible on this circulated example.

The reverse displays Australia’s historic coat of arms: a shield supported by a kangaroo and an emu, with a seven-pointed star above and the “ADVANCE AUSTRALIA” scroll beneath. “SIXPENCE” curves around the upper border, with the date 1928 below.

This distinctive design combines two of Australia’s best-known animals with its national heraldry. An attractive addition to an Australian or world coin collection, particularly for collectors of George V coinage and pre-decimal silver.
