A beautiful hand-blown studio art glass apple by renowned Lake District glassmaker Adrian Sankey of Ambleside.
The apple features rich swirling shades of deep cobalt blue, teal and emerald green, creating an almost underwater effect within the clear glass. Finished with a clear applied stem, the piece has excellent weight and a beautifully polished base, making it equally suitable as a paperweight or decorative sculpture.
The original Adrian Sankey label remains attached to the underside. Interestingly, this example appears to feature an early printing error on the telephone number, omitting the leading "1" from the Ambleside area code. While this is simply an interesting production detail rather than a documented rarity, it adds character to an already appealing studio glass piece.
A superb example from one of Cumbria's best-known contemporary glass artists.
