A small natural brown smoky obsidian specimen, weighing approximately 6g.
This raw piece of volcanic glass displays a rich dark brown to almost black appearance, becoming noticeably warmer and more translucent around thinner edges when illuminated.
The specimen has excellent naturally fractured glassy surfaces displaying the characteristic curved, shell-like conchoidal fracture patterns associated with obsidian. A small area also produces a subtle rainbow-like flash under direct light.
One side retains pale natural surface/matrix material, providing an interesting contrast with the highly lustrous exposed obsidian.
