A vintage UK stereo vinyl recording of Charles-Marie Widor’s Organ Symphony No. 5 in F Minor, Op. 42 No. 1, performed by American organist Richard Ellsasser.
Ellsasser performs the complete five-movement symphony on the immense pipe organ of the Hammond Museum in Gloucester, Massachusetts. The work concludes with Widor’s celebrated Toccata, one of the composer’s best-known and most exhilarating organ compositions.
Issued by Nonesuch Records in 1968, this British pressing was manufactured by Polydor Records Ltd in London and is presented in a striking front-laminated sleeve featuring colourful cover artwork by Roger Hane.
