Vladimir Horowitz performs twelve keyboard sonatas by Domenico Scarlatti on this 1965 UK mono LP.
The programme showcases Horowitz’s celebrated interpretation of Scarlatti, ranging from lively allegros and the rapid concluding presto to more reflective and expressive andante movements. The recording was produced for CBS by Thomas Frost and Thomas Z. Shepard.
This is the original UK CBS mono edition, catalogue number BRG 72274, with the blue CBS labels and front-laminated sleeve.
The vinyl displays visible surface marks and hairlines consistent with previous use. It has been visually graded VG but has not been play-tested.
The sleeve remains presentable but shows age-related spotting, discolouration and surface marks, particularly to the cream-coloured areas. There is also some edge and corner wear and light laminate creasing. It has been graded VG.
Supplied with a plain paper inner sleeve, which shows age-related discolouration and creasing.
An appealing album for collectors of Vladimir Horowitz, solo piano recordings and classical vinyl.
