Paul Tortelier performs a varied programme of popular cello encores, accompanied by Japanese pianist Shuku Iwasaki.
Recorded in Japan and released in the UK by His Master’s Voice in 1972, this stereo LP includes music by Saint-Saëns, Ravel, Fauré, Massenet, Granados, Sarasate, Valentini, Paganini, Dvořák and Chopin, together with Tortelier’s own Méditation.
The vinyl has a number of visible light surface marks and hairlines consistent with careful use and is visually graded VG. It has not been play-tested.
The laminated sleeve is graded VG, with general edge and corner wear, laminate creasing, surface scuffing and age-related marks. The rear remains clear and fully legible. Includes a period EMI paper inner sleeve with some age toning and creasing.
