A striking natural Hematoid Quartz specimen, weighing approximately 25g, featuring Quartz crystals coloured and coated by rich red-brown Hematite and iron oxides.
The specimen displays chunky crystalline formations ranging from milky and translucent Quartz through warm rust-red, terracotta and deep reddish-brown tones. Areas where the coating is thinner reveal the lighter Quartz beneath, creating lovely variation across the piece.
Hematoid Quartz is the trade name commonly given to Quartz containing or associated with Hematite and other iron oxides. These iron-rich inclusions and surface coatings produce its characteristic red, orange and earthy brown colouring.
Turned in the light, this little specimen has plenty to explore, with defined crystal faces, translucent areas, natural matrix and heavily iron-coloured sections all packed into just 25g.
