A vintage West German double-album collection featuring acclaimed baritone Hermann Prey alongside a distinguished cast of twentieth-century opera singers.
Additional performers include Sylvia Geszty, Ingeborg Hallstein, Rudolf Schock, Jess Thomas, Gottlob Frick, Waldemar Kmentt, Rohangiz Yachmi and Willi Brockmeier. The performances are accompanied by orchestras and choirs including the Berliner Symphoniker, the Orchestra and Chorus of the Deutsche Oper Berlin, the Munich Radio Orchestra and the RIAS Choir.
The collection includes arias, duets and ensemble pieces from works by Charles Gounod, Giacomo Meyerbeer, Ambroise Thomas, Léo Delibes and Jacques Offenbach, together with traditional and popular vocal selections.

Presented across two stereo vinyl records in an illustrated gatefold sleeve containing photographs and German-language information about the featured singers.
