Large Chlorite-Coated Quartz Crystal Cluster with Pyrite – Madan, Bulgaria – 5.1kg
An extraordinary cabinet-sized mineral specimen from the renowned Madan ore field in Bulgaria, weighing an impressive 5.1kg.
The upper surface is densely covered in hundreds of elongated Quartz crystals, ranging from fine needle-like formations to larger, clearly defined points. Many of the crystals are coated or surrounded by dark mossy-green Chlorite growth, including tiny rounded mineral formations that give the specimen its distinctive green colouring and richly textured appearance.
Scattered throughout are pale white crystalline growths and flashes of warm metallic gold. These golden areas are believed to include Pyrite, with other associated minerals potentially present within the natural matrix.
Even the underside reveals further crystalline pockets, sparkling mineral deposits, white crystal growth and golden metallic colouring, making this a fascinating specimen from every angle.
The Madan ore field in Bulgaria is internationally known for its complex hydrothermal mineral deposits and beautifully associated specimens containing Quartz, Chlorite, Calcite and metallic sulphide minerals.
Please note that this is a completely natural collector’s specimen. It includes irregular edges, contact areas, mineral coatings, natural fractures and variations in crystal size and condition. Some points may be incomplete or naturally contacted, and tiny loose fragments may occasionally occur. Due to its size and delicate crystal coverage, it should be lifted from beneath and handled with great care.
