A striking vintage Mdina Glass stoppered decanter, handmade in Malta and retaining its original Mdina Glass Malta label.
This substantial example has a rounded teal-blue body decorated with intricate cream, pale turquoise and warm amber trailing, creating an energetic web-like pattern across the glass. It is completed by a large matching globe stopper featuring complementary mottled decoration.
The polished base is engraved Mdina, with an additional marking beneath the signature. I have not interpreted the additional mark as a date or artist’s signature.
