A fascinating natural Moroccan pseudo-stromatolite sand concretion, weighing approximately 30–40g each.

Commonly known within the mineral and fossil trade as a “Sand Stromatolite” or “Desert Onion”, these unusual Saharan formations are more accurately regarded as natural sandstone concretions rather than true fossil stromatolites.

Each specimen is completely unique, with naturally formed concentric rings, raised centres and layered patterns creating striking circular and oval designs across the surface.

The pieces display warm terracotta, reddish-brown and sandy orange tones with a naturally rough, granular texture.
