A fascinating natural Moroccan pseudo-stromatolite sand concretion, weighing approximately 50–65g each.
Commonly known within the mineral and fossil trade as a “Sand Stromatolite” or “Desert Onion”, these unusual Saharan formations are more accurately regarded as natural sandstone concretions rather than true fossil stromatolites.
Each piece has its own completely individual shape and pattern, with naturally formed concentric rings, raised centres and layered structures creating wonderfully organic designs across the surface.
Warm terracotta, reddish-brown and sandy orange tones run throughout, with a naturally rough granular texture.
