A striking original Caithness Glass “Ultra Hot” art glass paperweight, individually etched to the glass and numbered.
This wonderfully bold design certainly lives up to its name. Rich translucent ruby and hot pink glass surrounds sweeping internal forms, while a cascade of vivid orange and fiery red glass flecks flows across the upper section and around the body. Viewed from different angles, the internal glasswork twists into dramatic curved forms and flashes of colour, giving the piece an almost molten appearance.
The polished egg-shaped form is substantial in the hand at approximately 695g, making this a beautiful display piece as well as a highly collectable example of Scottish Caithness art glass.
The piece is etched “Caithness”, “Ultra Hot” and individually numbered, as shown in the photographs.
