An unusual natural green silica-rich mineral specimen displaying beautiful layers of aqua blue-green, mossy olive, grey and earthy brown tones.

The exposed face has a smooth, waxy appearance with attractive natural colour zoning running through the specimen, while the reverse retains a substantial area of rough, weathered host rock. This contrast gives the piece a particularly interesting geological appearance and shows the mineral material within its natural matrix.

The specimen appears consistent with nickel-bearing green chalcedony/common opal material, which may be described as chrysoprase, green opal or garnierite depending upon its precise mineral composition.

  • Attractive aqua, green, olive and grey colouring
  • Natural colour zoning and banding
  • Smooth, waxy mineral surfaces
  • Rough natural host matrix retained
  • Raw, unpolished specimen
  • Weight: 43g

Natural fractures, cleavage, inclusions, matrix and irregular edges are present. Please study all photographs carefully as they show the exact specimen you will receive.
