A spectacular natural Amethyst portal geode with Calcite, weighing approximately 7.44kg and displayed vertically on a substantial black metal stand.
Standing approximately 53cm tall including the stand, this extraordinary specimen has been cut into an open-centred portal formation, creating a dramatic window through the natural Amethyst and Quartz crystal structure.
The piece displays beautiful layers of soft lilac, lavender, pale purple and milky white Quartz, becoming richer in colour around the central opening where deeper purple Amethyst crystals form an irregular crystalline frame.
Scattered amongst the Amethyst are small areas of sparkling druzy Calcite, adding another mineral texture and catching the light beautifully when viewed close up.
The open centre is one of the most striking features of the piece. Large natural crystal faces project into the opening from several directions, creating an irregular, almost cavernous appearance rather than a perfectly symmetrical ring. This makes the specimen particularly interesting when viewed from different angles.
Around the outer edge, the original natural geode matrix remains visible, contrasting with the pale crystalline interior and showing the geological structure from which the Amethyst formed.
Mounted securely on a black metal display stand, the specimen becomes a substantial freestanding decorative piece ideal for a large crystal collection, interior display, reception area or statement feature.

The metal stand has some existing surface wear and marks to the finish from previous handling/display. These are cosmetic and could easily be refreshed with suitable metal paint if desired. Please see photographs for condition.
