An interesting natural Blue Kyanite in matrix mineral specimen, weighing approximately 69g.
This rough specimen features blue to blue-grey kyanite occurring throughout a pale cream, grey and white metamorphic matrix. Several areas show the characteristic elongated and bladed crystal structure associated with kyanite, with the blue mineral particularly visible around the edges and exposed faces.
The contrasting natural matrix adds plenty of texture and gives the specimen a wonderfully geological, straight-from-the-rock appearance rather than the more commonly seen separated kyanite blades.
