An attractive 18g quartz crystal point, most likely heat-treated amethyst commonly sold commercially as citrine.
The specimen features a milky to translucent white quartz body leading into a vivid transparent golden-orange termination. The strong colour concentration within the upper portion is characteristic of amethyst that has undergone heat treatment to alter its original purple colour to yellow/orange tones. Heating amethyst to produce commercial citrine is a common and established treatment within the gemstone trade.
It retains a distinct natural crystal termination with internal fractures, inclusions and variations in clarity throughout.
