The specimen has a rich brick to rusty-red colour typical of iron-rich Red Jasper, with particularly attractive concentrations of dark, subtly metallic mineralisation across one end. A narrow crystalline vein cuts through part of the specimen, adding another interesting geological feature.
Left completely in its natural rough form, this is an unusual little piece with plenty to examine from different angles.
