Natural mixed mineral specimen featuring a sparkling coating of druzy quartz crystals over an unusual iron-rich matrix.
The specimen displays a fascinating mixture of textures and colours, including clear to translucent quartz crystal growth, rusty orange and reddish-brown iron-rich areas, dark grey metallic-looking mineral inclusions and occasional small areas of pale green mineralisation.
The dark metallic mineral may represent a naturally occurring sulphide mineral such as galena or sphalerite; however, the individual matrix minerals have not been laboratory identified and are therefore not attributed definitively.
