A charming 1965 UK mono recording featuring Saint-Saëns’ celebrated Carnival of the Animals, performed by husband-and-wife piano duo Cyril Smith and Phyllis Sellick with a chamber ensemble.
The second side contains two further works for piano duet: Gabriel Fauré’s delightful Dolly Suite and Francis Poulenc’s energetic Sonata for Two Pianos.
This vintage His Master’s Voice release is presented in a particularly attractive front-laminated sleeve featuring colourful mid-century illustrations of animals in a travelling carnival procession.

Condition
The vinyl displays visible light surface marks, sleeve-removal lines and signs of previous handling.
The sleeve has age-related wear, including rubbing, light staining, discolouration, creasing and wear around the edges and corners. A previous owner’s name and the date 1968 have been handwritten on the reverse. The inner sleeve also has handwritten identification.
The record has been visually inspected but has not been play-tested. Uninterrupted playback cannot therefore be guaranteed.
