A beautiful polished Yooperlite rose carving, weighing approximately 23g, shaped into a detailed flower complete with layered petals, stem and leaves.
In normal lighting, the stone displays a naturally mottled mixture of grey, charcoal black, creamy white and warm brown mineral tones, with the varied colouring running throughout the carved design.
The rose features a raised spiral centre surrounded by sculpted petals, with carved leaves and a short stem completing the floral shape. The polished finish brings out both the natural mineral pattern and the depth of the carving.
Under suitable UV light, sodalite-rich areas within the Yooperlite can fluoresce a vivid orange, revealing bright reactive patches hidden within the otherwise muted stone.
